Home Alone - The Three Brave Sisters

    Kate is 11 years old. She is smart and responsible. Anne is 8. She is sweet and funny. April is the youngest. She is small, loud, full of energy… and a little bit crazy. But she is loving too, and she always tries her best.

One sunny morning, the three sisters wake up early.
“It’s finally the day!” says Anne.
“Yes! We are going to New York!” shouts April.
Kate checks the suitcases. “Clothes? Check. Toys? Check. Snacks? Check. We are ready.”

Their parents smile.

“Let’s go to the airport!”

They take the metro to the airport.

At the Airport

The airport in Valencia is very big. There are many people, many bags, and many airplanes.

“Stay close to us,” says Dad.

The girls go through security, but suddenly a worker stops them.

“You wait here. Your parents go first,” the worker says.

The parents go through, but then the crowd grows big and noisy. The girls cannot see Mom and Dad anymore.

“Oh no!” says Anne. “Where are Mom and Dad?”

“Maybe they are playing hide-and-seek!” says April.

Kate shakes her head. “Stay calm. We will find them.”

They run to the gate—but it’s too late. The parents get on the airplane. The door closes. The plane takes off without the girls!

Anne starts to tear up. “What do we do?”

Kate stands tall like a leader. “We go home. We can do this.”

Back to Valencia

The girls walk slowly to the Metro station. April talks to everyone.

“We lost our parents, but don’t worry! My sister knows everything!” she says proudly.

Kate blushes. “April, shhh…”

They take the Metro home. At the house, Kate unlocks the door.
“We made it,” she says.

Anne hugs her sisters. “We are together. That’s good.”

A School Week

The next morning, Kate wakes up first.
“Come on! School time!” she says.

They brush their teeth, put on clean clothes, and walk to school like normal children.

At school, they learn math, read stories, and play tag in the playground. At almuerzo in the patio, they eat ham and cheese sandwiches.

“Thank you, Kate,” says April. “You make the best sandwiches in the world!”

Every day, after school, Kate has a plan.

“We go home, eat a snack, do homework, clean the house, and then play,” she announces proudly.

Kate makes a list of things they all have to do.

 

“Kate is like a tiny mom!” says Anne.

“She is a bossy mom!” laughs April.

Kate rolls her eyes.

“Shape up, or ship out!”

The sisters giggle and salute like little soldiers. “Yes, boss!”

 

After School Fun

After homework and chores, they always go to the park.

“Let’s exercise!” says Kate.

They do jumping jacks, push-ups, and run like athletes.

“35, 36, 37…” Kate counts.

“I’m tired!” cries April, lying on the grass.

“You are strong!” says Anne. “We are brave sisters!”

Sometimes they also play pretend games.

“I am a pirate!” says April.

“I am a queen!” says Anne.

“And I am the captain,” says Kate.

They laugh and run until the sun goes down.

Movie Night Surprise

Friday night arrives.
“Tonight we have a surprise!” says Kate.

They sit on the sofa with their pet rabbit. They eat pizza, popcorn, and drink orange juice. They watch funny movies and laugh until their bellies hurt.

“This is the best night ever!” says April, jumping like popcorn.

Mom and Dad Return

On Sunday, the girls go back to the airport.

“There they are!” shouts Anne.
Mom and Dad run to them and hug them very tight.

“We are so proud of you!” says Mom.
“You were very brave and responsible,” says Dad.

“Now we take the Metro home,” Dad says.

“No,” says Kate seriously. “The car is in the parking lot.”

Dad looks confused. “But how…?”

Kate smiles.

“I learned how to drive while you were gone.”

Anne nods.

“She is an excellent driver!”

Everyone freezes… then Kate bursts out laughing.

“Just kidding!”

Everyone laughs too.

The family goes home together. The three brave sisters hold hands.

They did it. They were strong, safe, and together.

Harry and the Stolen Painting

            

 1 – The Heist at the Valencia Art Museum

The night was quiet in Valencia. The streets were almost empty. The old museum looked beautiful under the lights. Inside, a man named Harry moved like a shadow. He was a thief — clever, careful, and very fast.

Harry had planned this robbery for weeks. He wanted one painting: “The Sunset Over the Sea”. It was worth five million euros. It was one of the most valuable paintings in the museum. Tonight, Harry would take it.

He opened a side door he had unlocked earlier. Every step he took on the marble floor made a soft sound. Security cameras moved slowly, but Harry knew their pattern. He timed his steps perfectly and moved past them without being seen.

Finally, he reached the painting. It was more beautiful than he imagined. The colors were warm, like fire in the sunset. Carefully, he lifted it from the wall and put it in a large black bag.

Without a sound, Harry climbed out of a window, dropped into the alley below, and disappeared into the night.

                                         2 – The Buyer from Madrid

The next morning, Harry felt happy. The painting was safe in his apartment on the edge of the city. But he needed money, not art.

He called people he knew in the underground market. One name came up: a rich woman from Madrid who collected rare art. Her name was Clara.

Harry called her. “I have a painting for you,” he said.

“I will come to Valencia,” she said. “Bring the painting. I will bring the money.”

When Clara arrived, she looked like a real collector. She wore elegant clothes, dark sunglasses, and drove a small black car. Harry showed her the painting.

“It’s real,” he said proudly.

Clara nodded. “Here is your payment.” She gave him a heavy envelope. Inside was one million euros — not the full price, but still a lot of money.

“Thank you,” said Harry, smiling.

Clara smiled too, but it was not a friendly smile. It was calm and serious.

3 – The Trap

Harry started to leave. But he heard footsteps and voices.

“Police! Don’t move!”

Several officers entered the apartment. Clara took off her sunglasses.

“Harry, you are under arrest for stealing the Valencia Art Museum painting,” she said.

Harry was shocked. “You are not a collector?”

“No,” Clara said. “I am Detective Clara Ramos. You sold the stolen painting to the police.”

Harry tried to run, but the officers caught him quickly. They put handcuffs on his hands. The bag with the money and the painting fell to the floor. His plan had failed.

A few months later, Harry went to court. The judge said he must go to jail for one year.

When the cell door closed behind him, Harry sighed. “One year,” he said. “For five million euros.”

Outside, Detective Ramos looked at the museum. The painting was back in its place. The sun set, and the sky looked like the painting — orange and red. She smiled. Justice was beautiful.
