It is a foggy day in Valencia. It isn’t often foggy here. Usually, it is warm and sunny. It rains about twice a month, but it is almost never foggy. It never snows, not in Valencia. Rea wakes up at seven fifteen (07:15), her normal routine when she has to go to school
“Rea, don’t forget to make your bed,” her mother calls from the kitchen.
“OK, I will,” Rea answers.
She takes a shower, puts on her clothes (gets dressed), has breakfast, and brushes her teeth before she leaves the house to go to school.Rea walks to the bus stop with a group of youths from her school. On the way to school, Rea gives her iPhone to her best friend, Natalia.
“Look at this funny video I found on Tic Toc,” Rea says to Natalia.
Natalia takes the phone and watches the video. She laughs. Then she gives Rea her Smartphone.
“This video on YouTube is funnier than that video on Tic Toc,” Natalia tells Rea.
Rea looks at the video. She watches three videos on YouTube.
“These videos are very funny,” Rea says, then she returns Natalia’s Smartphone. Natalia shows Rea an advert on a website looking for volunteers to work at a center for old people.
"We should volunteer (ofrecerse) to work at the center for senior citizens. We can get extra credit at school," Natalia says.
"Good idea," Rea replies.
Natalia puts the phone in her pack.
The youths walk two blocks to the bus stop, then they catch the bus to school. Their school is far away. Sometimes on the bus, Rea does her homework or listens to music on her phone, but today she talks to her best friend. The bus arrives at her school, Parque Colegio Santa Pija. It is a very expensive school.
Rea’s first class is English. She has English class every day. She has physical education (P.E.) twice a week. Rea likes P.E., but she hates English.
After school. Rea meets her friends at the bus stop. She looks in her pack for her phone. She can’t find it. She looks in her bag again. Her iPhone is missing! Where is her phone?
Rea can't remember the last time she used her phone. Rea panics. Her iPhone is very expensive and now it is missing. She doesn't know what to do.
"I have an idea," Natalia says. "I will call your phone and maybe we can hear it ring."
"Good idea, Natalia," Rea says.
Natalia calls Rea's phone.
They hear the phone ringing. Where is the noise coming from? Rea looks at Natalia's big purple backpack.
"I think my phone is in your bag," Rea says.
Natalia opens up her pack. She digs around inside. She finds the phone.
"Here it is," Natalia says. "How did it get in my bag?"
"You must have put it in your bag by mistake after I gave it to you this morning to look at the video on Tic Toc," Rea says.
The mystery is solved.
